Diabetes and pollution | #flashback on awareness campaigns
Type 2 diabetes has traditionally been linked to lifestyle and genetic factors, yet new research out of Washington University has revealed that there is some correlation between pollution and Type 2 diabetes. Based on the analysis, it is estimated that air pollution contributed to around 3.2 million diabetes diagnoses globally. The research is still underdeveloped, but will impact global understanding of one of the world's fastest growing diseases. Read more about the study here.
