Diabetes Confession Cam with Andi Balog

by IBD Medical on January 19, 2022

Welcome to Glucology's Confession Cam Series. We are hoping to provide a safe space for the diabetes community to come onboard with us to get things off their chest, anonymously or not, and share openly about anything and everything about your diabetes journey. Hopefully we can rally some support for you, inspire others out there, and at the very least help you and others see that you're not alone.

We have the Amazing Andi sharing her truth about the decisions she's made to empower herself in the best way possible. Have a listen!

This is not intended to be medical advice. Please consult with your own health professional before making any management changes. If you would like to have a chance to pop on our confession cam, you can message us your interest!

I have only been regularly seeing a endocrinologist for the last few years as I have had Diabetes for the last 59 years. And in earlier years when I did see them I had more problems through lack of empathy from Endocrinologists resulting in regular Hypo’s etc so I sort of managed it my self for a long while.. I also use to smoke and drink alcohol etc for many years but have in the last 5 years stopped all of that etc.. I have been extremely lucky and only problem was having Cataracts done back in 2018. I started to use the Dexcom G6 in which mostly for a life saver when I go to sleep and to easily keep track of my BSL during the day, but still do blood checks also as the Dexcom can some times be unreliable to me and Blood tests .. I am now nearing 62 years and always hoped there would be a cure for long term Diabetes Type 1 just to have some idea of living without it.. And was told that the Pharmaceutical Companies make way to much Money from us Diabetic’s suffering from this disease and that is terrible for all of us
