Diabetes Management Tip #3: Diabetes and Medication

Diabetes Management Tip #3:

Apart from a healthy balanced diet and exercises, we believe that with Diabetes, it is also important to manage your medications. Your doctor may prescribe insulin and other diabetes medications to lower your blood sugar levels, and depending on your individual condition, the effectiveness of the medication could depend on the timing and size of the dose. It is, therefore, important to take note of the following:

  •  Storing insulin at the right temperature and being aware of its expiration date

  • Keeping in touch with your doctor is important! If your medications cause your blood sugar levels to fluctuate (drop too low or are consistently too high), consult your doctor immediately

  • Always check with your doctor before taking new over the counter medication

IBD Medical was born in Sydney Australia. Our mission is to help improve the lives of people living with diabetes by providing the best possible support products and information.

Remember to always seek advice from your medical practitioner before changing anything about your diabetes management. The above information is not medical advice
